I would like to welcome you to the 2024 – 2025 school year and to the Visitation School website. Thank you for your interest in our school and please feel free to contact us with any questions, policies, programs, extracurricular activities, and weekly updates.
Visitation is a Preschool through Eighth Grade School that has been educating Kewanee area students since 1895. It is part of the Catholic Diocese of Peoria, Illinois and is supported by the St. John Paul II Parish of Kewanee. We have a proud tradition of outstanding students,
well-prepared, caring, and dedicated teachers and staff, dedicated parents, all of whom work tirelessly to support our many programs and activities.
We are making the adjustment to multi-age classrooms this school year. Due to financial constraints, we took a deep look at ourselves and how we can be more financially responsible. We feel this change will not affect our educational purpose, but even to improve upon it. By using this learning method, we will evaluate and work with students at their readiness level and encourage their development.
We alignment with our Catholic identity, students start each day with a school wide prayer. They have daily religion classes and join Father Ghislain Inai and Father Chris Haake to celebrate Mass weekly. Students also have reconciliation monthly and adoration each month at one of our student masses. In addition to this strong foundation in Catholic values, our quality academics allow us to develop the whole child so they will be responsible members of their church, community, and country.
After visiting our website, I invite you to visit our school and see just how exceptional you will find our school and staff. Each child is important and every family is valued.
I look forward to another exciting and successful school year.
Sincerely,
Wayne Brau
Visitation Catholic School Principal
